Have you ever wondered: What sort of a religion is this in which I find myself involved? What is its history? What does it stand for? How is it practiced and what are its principal theological tenets? Come find out! All interested adults and teens are invited to attend Durham Meeting’s annual “Quakerism 101” mini course beginning on Thursday evening, January 23rd. Bob Passmore and John Hunter will be your guides.

Announcing a short course for interested members and attenders Introducing the history and principal elements of Quakerism.

"Quakerism 101" is held on 4 weekday evenings 7:00-9:15 during January and February each year at the meetinghouse.  For 2020, Session 1 is Thursday evening, January 23rd followed by the next 3 Thursdays: January 30th, February 6th & 13th.

You are invited to a presentation about the 2013 Quaker Pilgrimage to the Lake District in England on Friday, March 7th 7:00-9:00 pm.  We will be serving  English Tea, complete with homemade Icky Sticky Toffee Pudding, scones with clotted cream and jam, and small sandwiches. Members of Meeting who took part in the pilgrimage will share their experiences and how they impacted their spiritual journeys and strengthened ties to Quakers both at home and in England.

As part of the Friends School community (even though we don't see you everyday), we hope you'll join us for any of the upcoming events!


Durham Friends Meeting will participate again this year in the  North Carolina Pride Parade on Saturday, September 28 at 12:30 pm on Duke's East Campus.  The parade starts at 1:00pm.
