Durham Friends Meeting will participate again this year in the North Carolina Pride Parade on Saturday, September 28 at 12:30 pm on Duke's East Campus. The parade starts at 1:00pm.
DFM is a welcoming community and has for 20 years recognized same gender marriages under the care of our Meeting. Let’s join together to express our love for our LGBT friends, neighbors, and family. Being visible at the parade is one way we show our support. The Pride Parade is known for its colorful characters and garb. Feel free to wear whatever you want. Colorful or Quaker gray!
To find your fellow Quakers, look for Peter Skillern's black truck decorated with balloons and signs. It usually is assigned a space near the entrance to Duke's East Campus.
