Dear Beloved Community of Friends,

In consultation with Worship & Ministry and Care & Counsel, it has been decided that we will immediately discontinue all in-person gatherings of our faith community at 4312 SE Stark Street through the end of March.  This includes meetings for worship, First Day school, SMAD, meeting for worship for business, committee meetings, book groups, Parents Night Out, and all scheduled presentations for this month. Many of these will continue through online options. See the home page of this site for more information.

We will continue to provide information via the weekly bulletin and our newsletter.  Our renters will be given the choice of whether they want to continue to use our building at this time; if not, they will be credited for a future date.

There have been some creative suggestions on how we can still remain connected:  We will continue to "meet" by individually worshiping in our homes at 10:00AM on First days (or with others in small groups in homes); worship walks in Laurelhurst Park in small groups, (keeping in mind social distancing of about six feet), committee meetings via Zoom or Meet, uplifting messages placed in the bulletin, checking in on one another by phone, or sending cards to those who may be isolated or coping with health concerns. All ideas are welcome, and may be sent to Holly at hearthkeeper@multnomahfriends.org for the bulletin.

I pray that everyone in our community remains well.  Please let's hold in the Light all who are impacted by the spread of COVID-19.

Blessings,

Elizabeth Fischer, Clerk
