Responding to Rapid, Unequal and Damaging Climate Change

Free workshop will offer help in both dealing with climate disruptions/crises in our lives and give participants hands-on experience with Steve Gates' carbon footprint/action calculator (climatecalculator.org).  Kim Stoner will delve into how we can live emotionally, psychologically and spiritually with the climate disruption that is already hitting the world hard. She will use a framework called “Deep Adaptation” to help us prepare as individuals and as a community.

Steve Gates will give specific actions you can take - to save money, or help save the planet, or both. His calculator can help each person/family figure out the best way to take action. Everyone is encouraged to try out the calculator in advance. You'll need a computer or mobile device, and your recent utility bills (previous month's gas and electric, plus a year's worth of data on oil bills).  Steve will answer questions and help you figure out next steps while tracking your progress over time.

Both speakers are members of the New England Yearly Meeting's Earthcare Ministry Committee.
